A helicopter carrying President Trump reportedly came within one mile of a passenger jet over Washington — NYT, via Unusual Whales. FAA and NTSB are investigating a “loss of separation” after Marine One left the Ellipse for Andrews while Reagan National traffic was still moving. After the January 2025 midair that killed 67, mixed helo/jet ops around DCA were supposed to stop. The president was never in danger, the White House says. The airspace still isn’t fixed. CNN →
